The Sherborne Flock

The Sherborne Flock of Pedigree Poll Dorsets has been well established for over 40 years and with our policy to breed livestock of quality with good conformation, care has been taken to use bloodlines to improve the flock.

The foundation flock was formed from the Bradstock Flock dispersal, increasing gradually until the current flock of 390 pedigree ewes. This foundation flock had been bred by the well-known "Bunny Lenthall" and still retains this quality characteristic.

The flock has been undergoing expansion with the purchase of stock from all of the top Dorset flocks in the UK, plus the inclusion of some Australian bloodlines. All breeding stock have now been geno-typed and we have also have a policy of high health care.

• All finished lambs are sold through a national marketing outlet, that gives feedback on individual carcase weight and quality.
• The flock is M.V. Accredited and Scrapie Monitored Negative
• All flock ewes are Scrapie Genotyped
• All stud and sale rams are tested as part of the National Scrapie Plan
• Member of Centurion (Poll Dorset) Sire Reference Scheme
